On the 18th of March 2024, six students attended an exhibition in Leicester called ‘Van Gogh – The Immersive Experience’.
The exhibition provided the students with information about this exceptional artist’s life, as well as the chance to explore his work.
The exhibition included a three-dimensional representation of Van Gogh’s painting entitled ‘Bedroom in Arles’, which the students could experience by walking inside it. Additionally, there was a 360-degree film featuring over 200 examples of the artist’s work, along with inspirational quotes written by him, all set to a calming soundtrack.
The final part of the exhibition was a Virtual Reality experience where the students were able to virtually walk inside some of Van Gogh’s paintings. The students thought that the best parts of the exhibition were the Virtual Reality section, as it allowed them to explore the paintings from within, and the three-dimensional replica of Van Gogh’s ‘Bedroom in Arles’, as they could interact with the artwork.
