During the week beginning March the 3rd to the 6th Castle School celebrated careers week as a whole school initiative will all year groups being involved in a broad range of activities.
All activities were planned to support students in having different experiences around careers and opportunities to visit real life working environments in some cases.
Students all gained an understanding of the different role and skillsets within the areas and content they were exploring. They looked at the qualifications and pathways people have taken within their field getting real life accounts.
The week was aimed at providing opportunities for students to make informed decisions about their future and identify how important education is to accessing their next steps and how it is linked to broader opportunities in life. Activities across the week included:
Year 7/8 going to Cadbury’s World to see how chocolate was made and identify the different roles in the process from working on the factory floor to marketing and advertisement. Students gained a great insight into the history and production of chocolate products. They came back with smiling faces and pockets bulging full of tasty treats…a trip to remember they said.
