Castle School’s senior leadership team met with Derby College’s EHCP Transitions Coordinator, Grace Elliot, to explore ways to strengthen our partnership and improve student transitions.
The college’s transition team is collaborating with us to engage with Castle students through our CEIAG programme before the application and interview stage. This proactive approach helps the college understand individual student needs and the support they can provide, fostering a personalised transition experience for students, parents/carers, and post-16 providers.
Grace will deliver a presentation at Castle School about available courses and Derby College’s support for students with EHCPs.
Further opportunities for students include visiting Derby College to experience Castle lessons in the college’s teaching environment, giving them a taste of college life before the next academic year.
