The Visit to Jodie Amber Studios Derby:
Some of our Year 11 pupils who are interested in Hair, Health and Beauty as a Post 16 option, had the opportunity to visit a local salon based on Friar Gate to meet the owner Jodie Amber and her team.
Our pupils gained knowledge about different areas of training and the associated accreditation they would need. They were able to have a taster of a live training session for students that were participating in a four day training course in the area of aesthetics at the studio.
Jodie spoke about her career pathway – from training as a nurse and gaining her NMC registered nurse pin, to entering the world of aesthetics, opening two clinics in the UK and one clinic in Dubai.
Our pupils were inspired by Jodie’s story and shared this experience with their parents and peers.
