The Castle School works very closely with The Careers a& Enterprise Company which offer up to date advice, guidance and support. They also provide us with an element of reflective and impartial practice around the Compass audits we are required to complete.
They offer a wide range of support to secondary schools, specialist settings and post-16 providers through Careers Hubs alongside nationally available digital products, resources and training to help drive Castle School to continually improvement the support we give our young people.
Their mission is to help every young person find their best next step.
We do this by working with both primary and secondary schools, colleges and employers to improve careers education and secure better outcomes for young people.
Our work is at national scale and delivered through our network of Careers Hubs that bring together schools, colleges, employers, and apprenticeship providers in local areas across England, working in partnership with Mayoral, Combined and Local Authorities and, Local Enterprise Partnerships to connect with local skills needs.
Their priorities are to:
- Raise the quality of careers provision in schools, special schools and colleges against the Gatsby Benchmarks through training for the education workforce, targeted support and quality assurance
- Drive more high-quality experiences with employers for students and teachers – with a focus on current ‘cold spots’
- Amplify apprenticeships, technical and vocational routes – including by supporting the implementation of the Provider Access Legislation (PAL)
- Focus on interventions for economically disadvantaged young people (FSM) and those who face most barriers – through identifying and addressing the needs of specific cohorts
- Connect careers provision in schools and colleges to the needs of local economies – as articulated through Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs).
